Time to make much of the BLOOD

"What ifs" will never change anything in our past. What if I was a better mother? Is what my chidren are going through because of how I raise them? What if I handled money differently? What if I had obeyed God sooner? What if I had prayed more, studied more, obeyed more? None of that has any power to change. In fact, it can lead to 'toxic emotions' that can cause our lives to take wrong turns, more bad decisions, weight gain, disease, etc. (such as told by Art Mathais on Sid Roth's It's Supernatural)

I was reading Zechariah 13:1 this morning, "On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin an impurity." The Blood of Jesus has been flowing from the fountain in heaven to us since Jesus rose and took His place at the right hand of God. That Blood has never lost its power! It never runs out, flowing freely to whosoever will come under the flow. It is a free gift, to cleanse all our past, present and future- but that Blood was not free to Jesus. The cost to Him was the cross, taking upon Himself all our shame, guilt and sin. There is nothing the blood cannot erase or cleanse.

I found the history of the hymn,"There is a fountain filled with Blood, flows from Emanuel's veins" http://www.blueletterbible.org/hymns/hymn.cfm?hymnID=2325 I hope you take a some time today and read the story of the writer and how the sins of his past almost drove him to madness and to commit suicide. He found that flow and was mightily used of God in his hymns that we still sing today. He also had close association with John Newton who wrote Amazing Grace. We all need friends during hard times that understand the amazing Grace of God!!

Although I start my new year by the Hebrew calendar of Rosh HaShanah (9/18/09 to 9/8/10), I believe we can start over anytime. Why not take communion tonight or tomorrow and forgive yourself, forgive all others, receive the free gift of forgiveness from Jesus' precious cleansing Blood, and allow that Blood to flow freely down you, your children, family, loved ones (your entire cluster naturally & spiritually, Isaiah 65:8).

Rev 1:5b, "Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood"

I John 1:7 (NLT) "But if we are living in the light of God's presence, just as Christ is, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from every sin."

I John 2:2, "And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world."

Ephesians 1:7, "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace"

Hebrews 9:14, "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"

I Peter 1:19, " (redeemed) but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot."

Rev 7:14, "And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."

Rev 12:11, "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death."
